The VELP BOD Sensor is a precise, compact system for determining Biochemical Oxygen Demand, the standard measure of the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed by aerobic microorganisms in water and a widely used indicator of organic water quality and pollution levels. Available in two variants, the standalone BOD Sensor and the BOD Sensor Set which includes a 500 ml bottle, both deliver direct BOD readout in mg/l (ppm) on a 3-digit LED display across five measurement scales from 90 to 4000 ppm, with higher values measurable by sample dilution. The system automatically stores BOD values at 24-hour intervals, allowing results to be read at any time over a multi-day test period, including over weekends, without interrupting the analysis. Built from durable technopolymer with IP 54 protection and powered by two CR 2430 lithium batteries, the sensors are compact and reliable for routine environmental water testing. Designed and manufactured in Italy, the BOD Sensor and BOD Sensor Set are the entry point into VELP's full BOD Sensor system range.
