Labplas LABrack Stainless Steel Sampling Bag Rack
The Labplas LABrack is a stainless steel rack that holds several sampling or blender bags upright on the bench. Use it while filling, after homogenizing and while pipetting, and to carry bags safely between workstations. It's autoclavable, stackable and has rubber feet that keep it steady on the countertop. Its base holds more than 400 mL of liquid if a bag leaks.
Each LABrack comes with 10 closure clips for sealing bags that don't have a wire closure, such as Filtra Bag tear-off and open-top bags. It's used in food and beverage microbiology, contract testing labs, environmental labs and research laboratories. The LABrack is available in Canada from Cambridge Environmental Products with CAD pricing and Canadian purchasing support.
Ideal For
- Food microbiology labs: holding blender bags upright between homogenizing and pipetting
- Labs using Filtra Bag or other blender bags that need to stand open for aliquot sampling
- Controlled work areas where racks need to be autoclaved
- Incubating bags upright during enrichment
- Research laboratories, universities and colleges
Why Choose the LABrack?
Stainless steel and autoclavable
The rack is made entirely of stainless steel, so it can be cleaned and autoclaved between uses and doesn't absorb stains or odours. Labplas states it can go in the autoclave and incubator.
Stable on the bench, with spill containment
Rubber feet keep the rack from sliding while you pipette from open bags. If a bag leaks, the base holds more than 400 mL of liquid, so the spill stays in the rack rather than spreading across the bench.
Stackable
LABracks stack to save bench and storage space when you're running several batches.
Closure clips included
Each rack includes 10 closure clips. Each clip has a cylinder and a half-moon piece that press together to seal the top of a bag with no wire closure. That's useful for incubating or holding Filtra Bag tear-off and open-top bags.
Common Applications
| Application | How the LABrack Helps |
|---|---|
| Blender bag sample preparation | Holds bags upright and open after homogenizing, so you can pipette with both hands free. |
| Enrichment and incubation | Keeps bags upright in the incubator, with clips to seal bags without a closure. |
| Moving samples between stations | Carry several bags together instead of one at a time. |
| Spill control | The base catches leaks of more than 400 mL. |

Selection & Handling Notes
- Autoclaving: Labplas states the LABrack is autoclavable but lists a temperature range of −80 °C to 80 °C, which may reflect the rubber feet. Check with Cambridge before adding it to a routine autoclave cycle.
- Non-sterile: the rack is supplied non-sterile. Clean or autoclave it before use in controlled areas.
- Bag fit: confirm the rack suits your bag size before ordering in quantity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the LABrack used for?
It holds sampling and blender bags upright on the bench for filling, pipetting, incubation and carrying between workstations.
Can the LABrack be autoclaved?
Labplas states it is autoclavable. It also lists a temperature range of −80 °C to 80 °C, so contact Cambridge to confirm before routine autoclaving.
What are the included closure clips for?
They seal bags that don't have a wire closure, such as Filtra Bag tear-off (SCT) and open-top (SCTO) bags. Each LABrack comes with 10.
How many bags does it hold?
Labplas doesn't publish a bag count. It depends on bag size and fill volume. Contact Cambridge with your bag size and we'll confirm.
What's the difference between the LABrack and Rack'N'Lab?
The LABrack is stainless steel with rubber feet and spill containment, and is mainly for bench use. The Rack'N'Lab is a light polypropylene rack that folds flat, with a handle for carrying bags in the field or around the lab.
Is the LABrack available in Canada?
Yes. Labplas is a Canadian manufacturer, and Cambridge Environmental Products supplies the LABrack across Canada with CAD pricing.
