Burkle ProfiSampler Aluminium – Vacuum Liquid Sampler
The Burkle ProfiSampler Aluminium is an industrial vacuum sampler designed for collecting liquid samples from barrels, tanks, trucks, railway tank cars, ships and other difficult-to-access locations. Built for demanding industrial environments, it provides a practical solution for collecting liquid samples while reducing direct contact between the sample and the sampling equipment.
Designed for sampling non-aggressive liquids, including flammable liquids, the ProfiSampler features electrically conductive components and includes a grounding cable for use in appropriate applications. Its 8 mm diameter suction hose can reach narrow sampling areas, while the vacuum system draws liquid directly into the attached sample bottle.
The sampler is supplied with a 500 mL glass sample bottle, five electrically conductive suction hoses, a brass hose weight, grounding cable and additional accessories.
Important Safety Information
When sampling flammable liquids, the ProfiSampler must be properly grounded before use to reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge and ignition. Follow the applicable safety procedures for the liquid being sampled, including appropriate protective equipment and ventilation.
The sampler is not suitable for aggressive acids or alkalis. Always verify chemical compatibility before use and consult the manufacturer's instructions.

How the ProfiSampler Works
The ProfiSampler uses a manually operated vacuum pump to draw liquid through the suction hose and into the attached sample bottle. The sample comes into contact with the suction hose and collection bottle, helping reduce the risk of cross-contamination between samples when suitable clean tubing and bottles are used.
- Attach the GL 45 sample bottle to the sampler.
- Insert the suction hose through the clamping screw and position its end inside the sample bottle.
- Place the free end of the hose into the liquid being sampled. Ensure the hose is not kinked.
- Attach the hose weight when required to help stabilise the hose.
- Connect the grounding cable before sampling flammable liquids.
- Operate the pump handle to draw liquid into the sample bottle.
- Press the vacuum release button to stop sampling, then carefully remove and seal the sample bottle.
Always follow the supplied instruction manual and the safety procedures applicable to the liquid being sampled.
Applications
The ProfiSampler Aluminium is suitable for collecting liquid samples from a range of industrial and environmental locations, including:
- Drums and barrels
- Storage and process tanks
- Road and rail tankers
- Ships and other transport vessels
- Water courses and groundwater sampling locations
- Industrial liquid sampling points with limited access
Materials and Chemical Compatibility
The sampler uses different materials for its pump assembly and liquid-contact components.
| Component | Material |
|---|---|
| Pump head, cylinder and frame | Aluminium |
| Suction hose | Electrically conductive polyamide (PA) |
| Sample bottle | Glass |
| Head gasket | EPDM |
| Hose weight | Brass / nickel-plated brass |
Check the chemical resistance of all wetted materials against the liquid being sampled before use. The manufacturer specifically states that the ProfiSampler is not suitable for aggressive acids or alkalis.
