Bürkle Stainless Steel Laboratory Beakers – AISI 304
The Bürkle Stainless Steel Laboratory Beakers are reusable, non-graduated Griffin beakers made from AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel. Designed for mixing, heating, pouring and sample preparation, they offer a durable alternative to glass or plastic labware.
Each beaker has a pouring spout, smooth interior and flat contact base for use on suitable laboratory heating plates. Bürkle identifies these beakers as autoclavable and food-safe, making them useful for Canadian food QA/QC, research and industrial laboratories.

Additional Product Information
Which Beaker Size Should I Choose?
100–250 mL: Small samples, routine mixing and benchtop preparation.
500 mL–1 L: General laboratory work, food QA samples and larger liquid preparations.
3–5 L: Larger-volume mixing, sample preparation and industrial laboratory applications.
Allow additional space for stirring, mixing and pouring. A beaker's nominal capacity should not be treated as its recommended working fill volume for every procedure.
Heating, Autoclaving & Cleaning
Bürkle specifies a flat contact base to support heat transfer on heating plates. Use a suitable heating method and follow your laboratory's temperature and handling procedures.
The manufacturer identifies these beakers as autoclavable. Follow your validated sterilization cycle and confirm suitability for any required process conditions.
Clean the beaker using an appropriate method for both the stainless steel and the material previously contained. Rinse and dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Stainless steel becomes hot during heating. Use appropriate thermal protection when handling heated beakers.
304 Stainless Steel vs. Glass Beakers
Choose stainless steel when durability, repeated handling and resistance to breakage are important. The smooth surface also makes it practical for suitable food and laboratory workflows.
Choose borosilicate glass when you need to see the sample through the vessel or when the application calls for glass rather than metal.
Chemical compatibility should always be checked. AISI 304 stainless steel is not suitable for every chemical, concentration or exposure condition.
See our Borosilicate Glass Griffin Beakers for another general-purpose option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these beakers made from 304 stainless steel?
Yes. Bürkle specifies stainless steel grade 1.4301, also known as AISI 304.
Are the beakers graduated?
No. These beakers have no volume graduation markings and are not intended for precise volume measurement.
Can they be used for food laboratory applications?
Yes. Bürkle identifies this beaker series as food-safe and suitable for food technology applications. Confirm any material documentation or specific food-contact requirements with Cambridge before purchasing.
Are Bürkle stainless steel beakers autoclavable?
Yes. The manufacturer identifies them as autoclavable. Use an appropriate validated cycle and confirm any special processing requirements with the manufacturer.
Can these beakers be used on a hot plate?
Bürkle designs the contact base to support heat transfer on heating plates. Confirm that your heating equipment and operating procedure are suitable for the stainless steel vessel.
Do these beakers have handles or lids?
No. The manufacturer lists this series without handles. A lid is not specified as included. If you need a handled or covered vessel, contact Cambridge to discuss alternatives.
Are they suitable for all laboratory chemicals?
No. Although 304 stainless steel has good resistance to many substances, compatibility depends on the chemical, concentration, temperature and exposure time. Check compatibility before ordering for aggressive chemicals.
Can Cambridge supply multiple sizes for Canadian laboratories?
Yes. Contact Cambridge Environmental with the required Bürkle part numbers, quantities and delivery location to confirm Canadian pricing, availability and institutional ordering options.
