The foundation of Raven’s instrument line traces back to control tests developed in the 1970s by Alfred W. West, then Chief Engineer in the U.S. EPA’s Waste Treatment Branch. Those methods became long-standing standards in plant operations, and in 1983, Raven was established to manufacture the instruments required to carry out these tests—built to be durable, simple to use, and affordable.

Today, Raven remains privately held, with in-house engineering, testing, and quality control, continuing to design and manufacture instruments that wastewater operators rely on worldwide.
