Potato Dextrose Broth

Potato Dextrose Broth is a liquid medium used for the cultivation and isolation of yeasts and molds from dairy and food products. The nutritionally rich base provided by Potato Infusion and Dextrose encourages mold sporulation and pigment production in some fungi. The low pH inhibits bacterial growth but allows fungi to flourish. There is a choice of 3 sizes - 500g, 2kg, and 10kg.

PREPARATION: Mix 24 grams of the medium in one liter of purified water until evenly dispersed. Heat with repeated stirring to dissolve completely. Distribute and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
