Accuris myGel Mini Electrophoresis System
The Accuris myGel Mini Electrophoresis System is a compact, complete horizontal gel electrophoresis system designed for routine agarose gel separation of DNA and other nucleic acids.
Unlike systems that require a separate external power supply, the myGel Mini combines the gel tank and power supply into one compact platform. Two gel casting systems are included, allowing users to run either one 10.5 Γ 6 cm gel or two 5 Γ 6 cm gels.
With selectable 35 V, 50 V and 100 V output settings, a programmable 0β99 minute timer, continuous-run mode and a lid safety interlock, the E1101 is well suited to research laboratories, university and college teaching labs, biotechnology labs and routine molecular biology workflows.

A Complete Mini Gel Electrophoresis System
The myGel Mini is designed to provide the major components needed to cast and run small agarose gels in one package.
The standard E1101 system includes the gel tank and integrated power supply together with both of Accuris' gel casting sets:
- E1101-CS1: Casting system for 10.5 Γ 6 cm gels
- E1101-CS2: Casting system for 5 Γ 6 cm gels
This gives users the flexibility to run a larger single gel or two smaller gels without purchasing separate casting equipment.
Integrated Power Supply β No Separate Electrophoresis Power Supply Required
The myGel Mini gel tank connects directly to its dedicated power-supply module, creating a compact system without the external leads normally associated with a separate electrophoresis power supply.
Three preset output voltages are available:
- 35 V
- 50 V
- 100 V
Voltage and run time are selected from the membrane control panel.
Users can set a run time from 1 to 99 minutes, or select continuous operation when a fixed timer is not required.
Two Gel Formats Included
The E1101 includes casting hardware for two useful mini-gel formats.
| Casting Set | Gel Size | Included Trays | Included Combs |
| E1101-CS1 | 10.5 Γ 6 cm | 2 trays | 2 reversible 22 / 12-tooth combs |
| E1101-CS2 | 5 Γ 6 cm | 4 trays | 2 reversible 18 / 10-tooth combs |
The system can accommodate one 10.5 Γ 6 cm gel or two 5 Γ 6 cm gels during a run.
Quick Gel Casting β No Tape, Clamps or Spacers
The supplied casting stands are designed to simplify agarose gel preparation.
Place the appropriate gel tray into the casting stand, install the comb and pour the prepared agarose solution. The casting system does not require tape, end dams, clamps or separate spacers.
This makes the myGel Mini particularly convenient for teaching labs and routine molecular biology workflows where gels are prepared frequently.
Reversible Combs & Multichannel Pipette Compatibility
Both casting systems use double-sided reversible combs, allowing the user to choose between different well configurations.
- E1101-CS1: 22 / 12-tooth reversible combs
- E1101-CS2: 18 / 10-tooth reversible combs
Accuris identifies the smaller-tooth configurations as compatible with multichannel pipettes, which can help speed sample loading when multiple samples are being processed.
Easy Well Loading & Run Monitoring
Accuris incorporates several practical features into the gel trays to make routine electrophoresis easier.
A dark contrast strip helps make the wells easier to see while samples are being loaded.
The trays also include lines that fluoresce under UV and blue-light illumination, providing reference points that can help users monitor migration and run progress.
Lid Safety Interlock
The myGel Mini incorporates a safety interlock that prevents electrical current from running through the electrophoresis tank unless the lid is correctly installed.
The lid is also vented to help dissipate heat generated during electrophoresis and includes a transparent viewing area over the gel tank.
Electrophoresis Safety
Electrophoresis equipment operates using electrical voltage in the presence of conductive buffer. Always follow the Accuris operating manual, keep the lid correctly installed during operation and do not attempt to bypass the safety interlock.
Designed for Agarose Gel Electrophoresis
Accuris describes the myGel Mini as a horizontal electrophoresis system intended for separating nucleic acids in agarose gels.
Typical applications can include:
- PCR product analysis
- DNA fragment separation
- Restriction digest analysis
- DNA ladder comparison
- Nucleic-acid quality checks
- Molecular biology teaching laboratories
- Routine research electrophoresis
The appropriate agarose concentration, running buffer, voltage and run time depend on the sample and fragment sizes being separated.
Ideal for Teaching & Small Laboratories
With an integrated power supply and small footprint, the myGel Mini is a practical option where bench space is limited or where several electrophoresis stations are required.
Potential users include:
- University research laboratories
- College teaching laboratories
- Biotechnology laboratories
- Molecular biology laboratories
- Research and development labs
- Small-volume PCR workflows
Because the power supply, gel tank and casting systems are supplied together, instructors and new users do not need to match a separate tank and power supply before getting started.
