Letheen Broth, Modified

Letheen Broth Base, Modified is a liquid medium used to determine the antimicrobial activity of quaternary ammonium compounds. Lecithin, Tween80, and Sodium Bisulfite neutralize quaternary ammonium compounds, phenols, and formalin present in cosmetic products. Meat Peptone, Beef Extract, Yeast Extract, and Enzymatic Digest of Casein provide nitrogenous compounds, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Sodium Chloride maintains osmotic equilibrium. There is a choice of 3 sizes - 500g, 2kg, and 10kg

PREPARATION: Mix 42.8 grams of the medium in one liter of purified water until evenly dispersed. Heat with repeated stirring and boil for one minute to dissolve completely. Distribute and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
